Paige and Matty (aka, Bonnie and Clyde)....

This reminds me that every once in a while you have to stop and smell the roses.

Matty and Paige are out for a morning stroll at Grammy's house.

Oops, we spent so much time in the pool over Memorial weekend, that we ran out of Swim Diapers. They didn't seem traumatized by it.

Paige, Emma and Gretch go home tomorrow. We will sure miss them.

A Day at the Beach (Picnic Island)

Sunday, we went to the beach with PJ, Nichole, Taylor, and Kayla. The kids had fun. It was a nice get away, and we were there most of the day. We packed sandwiches, drinks, and snacks to keep the animals tame.

Hot stuff!!!

They should be in the movies...

Isn't this the most beautiful family you have ever seen?

Cowboy heroes,
cops and robbers,
glamour and strife,
bigger than life!
Sitting in the darkness,
what a world to see!
Let's go to the movies,
Annie, wait and see.
Let's go to the movies
Let's go see the stars.
Red lights holler
deep Depression
What do we care?
Movies are there!
Only happy endings
(boy gets girl, yes)
that's our recipe!
Welcome to a lovely
M-O-V-I-E!

Life's a Beach

Sunday we went from the Hillsborough River, into the Gulf. We sailed past MacDill AFB, and on to Beer Can Island. The boys thought that was a funny name for an island; I think their hopes were dashed a little when they didn't find any.
Steven did find an old rusted piece of iron (which prompted much debate about whether it was a natural source from earth, or whether it came off of a ship...and what kind of ship it could have been).

I was happy just to capture their bright smiling faces.

Taylor and Kayla (PJ and Nichole's daughters)

Kickin' around in the surf, relaxing, and picking up shells. What a way to spend a day!

Ahhh the life.

Oh go fly a kite!

Let's go fly a kite
Up to the highest height!
Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let's go fly a kite!

We joined the neighbors outside. It was a beautiful afternoon. David (the neighbor) let Matty and Makayla (his daughter) hold the string. They thought that was the greatest thing in the whole world!

Michael helped too. David put four rolls of kite string together, and the kite ended up being over 700 ft up in the air.

It was just about to get dark outside (while we were tirelessly trying to roll it back in) when the string snapped and the kite difted away until we couldn't see it anymore.

Makayla decided to share her water with Matty. The day before, Matty shared his drink with her. Makayla is about 18 months old (she is a cutie). They ride bicycles together. They have the same bike (hers is Dora, and his is Diego).
